Grandma's Fresh Fruit Cake (Muerbetig)

    1 1/4 cups flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 T. sugar
    1/4 lb. butter (margerine) (softened)
    1 beaten egg yolk
    2 T. milk
    pinch salt

    Blend first 4 ingredients until consistency of cornmeal. Add egg yolk, milk and salt.
    Mix. Work with palm of hand into crust (shell) in bottom of 9"X13" pan (pyrex). Bring crust up on sides.

    Custard:
    1 egg
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 tsp. milk
    1 tsp. flour

    Cut fresh fruit (peaches are great) and arrange in rows on shell. Mix ingredients for custard and pour evenly over fruit. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
