Green Beans with Horseradish salad dressing
MyCookbook Recipe Database
MyCookbook Member: tropicared
Recipe Category: Side Dish
Recipe Preparation Level: easy
2 1/2 pounds of fresh green beans
1/4 cup prepared horseradish
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise (not salad dressing)
1/2 cup minced onions
2 teaspoons minced garlic
dash of Worcestershire sauce
4 hard boiled eggs chopped
1/2 pound chopped crisp bacon
salt and black pepper to taste
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch the beans for 2 minutes. Remove the beans from the water and immediately place in ice water. Drain the beans and pat dry.
In a mixing bowl, whisk the horseradish, sour cream, mayonnaise, onions, garlic, worcestershire, salt and pepper.
Refrigerate the beans and dressing until ready to serve.
To serve, place green beans on a plate, drizzle with the dressing, sprinkle a little egg and bacon.
For best results, refrigerate the dressing overnight. This dressing compliments any vegetable cooked in this manner.
