> 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
> 1 tsp baking soda
> 1 tsp baking powder
> 1/8 tsp salt
> 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
> 1 cup granulated sugar
> 3 eggs
> 1 cup sour cream
> 1 cup mini chocolate pieces (I use chocolate chips or if there will be
> lots of children, I use those mini baking M & M's)
> CRUMB TOPPING:
> 1/2 cup packed dark-brown sugar
> 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
> 1 tsp ground cinnamon
> a pinch of salt
> 1/4 cup unsalted butter
> 1. Heat oven to 350F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
> 2. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt and set aside.
> 3. Beat butter and sugar in a medium-size bowl on medium speed until
> light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs, one at a time,
> beating well after each addition.
> 4. On low speed, beat flour mixture into butter mixture in 3
> alternating with the sour cream, in 2 additions; beat on medium speed
> 3 minutes.
> 5. Fold in chocolate pieces. With a rubber spatula, scrape batter
> the prepared tube pan; smooth top.
> 6. Crumb topping: Whisk brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt in
> bowl. Using pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in cold butter until
> is consistency of coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle the crumb mix evenly over
> the batter in the tube pan.
> 7. Bake in 350F oven for 60 minutes or until pick inserted in center
> comes out with moist crumbs attached (not quite clean but not battery).
> Cool cake in pan on rack 20 minutes. Gently turn out cake. Let cool
> rack, crumb side up.
