1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon white sugar
1/4 cup flour
2 pears, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon allspice
In a large bowl blend eggs, vanilla, half-and-half, and butter. Stir in 1/2 cup white sugar and flour. Butter a pie plate. Arrange pear slices in bottom of plate. Sprinkle with brown sugar and allspice. Slowly pour batter evenly over pears. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon white sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden brown and set in center.
