1 pound dried split peas
1 large or 2 small ham hocks
3 quarts or so of water
3 good sized carrots
1 stalk celery
1 large onion
1 large or 2 small bay leaves
Cut the carrots, celery & onion in chunks. Throw this
all in the crock pot for 10 hours or so. Take the bay
leaf, celery & onion out. Use "smasher" to smush the
carrot & some of the peas to thicken the soup. Pick
the ham off the hock and throw back in.
