MyCookbook Recipe Database

Recipe Category: Vegetarian
Recipe Preparation Level: moderate
    This recipe adapted from the Family Circle's New Taste for New Times cookbook makes a good appetizer. You'll have everyone guessing about what
    they are eating!

    1 rutabaga (about 2 pounds), peeled and cut into 1/2-inch wide sticks (like French fries)
    1-1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
    1-1/2 tablespoons honey
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1/2 teaspoon salt

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Coat baking sheet with cooking spray. Stir together butter, honey, pepper, and salt in a large bowl. Add rutabaga;
    toss together to mix. Place rutabaga on pan in single layer. Bake until tender and browned, about 45 minutes, turning sticks over after 30 minutes.
    Serves 6.
