Recipe Preparation Level: easy
10 lbs cooking apples (Johnathon work well)
    4 c apple cider

Wash apples, but do not pare. Quarter and remove seeds. Add Cider and cook slowly until soft. Put through food mill or sive. Measure pulp and add 1 cup sugar to every 3 cup pulp. Add 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp clove, 1/2 tsp allspice, 1/2 tsp nutmeg.

Put into slow cooker and cook on low about 18 hours or until mixture is as thick and dark as desired. Pour into sterilized jars and freeze.

To can instead of freeze, process 10 min in boiling water.

    Makes 6-7 pints.
