Corn Dog

    serving for six
    1/2 c Yellow corn meal
    1/2 c Flour
    1 t Dry mustard
    1/2 t Salt
    1 Egg, lightly beaten
    1 T Sugar
    1 t Baking powder
    1/2 c Milk
    1 T Melted Shortening
    6 all beef hotdogs
    6 Skewers or Sticks
    Deep Fry oil

    -Combine the corn meal, flour, sugar, mustard, baking powder and salt, mix well.
    -Add milk, egg, and melted shortening, mix until very smooth.
    -Pour the mixture into a tall glass.
    -Put the hot dogs on the stick (Lengthwise) and dip them into the glass of mixture to coat them evenly.
    -Deep fry in oil heated to 375 degrees F until golden brown, about two minutes.
    -Let drain on paper towles.

    **You can spice these up a little by adding diced jalopenos with or without the seeds depending on how spicy you would like them.
